Misty Tosh
Misty Tosh took the edgier route in life, skipping college and heading straight to LA to work in TV & movie production. Over the years, she hustled her way into multiple top-‐rated shows as a EIC/Line Producer and though she stays busy traveling the world producing hit reality television shows, what Misty really schemes about is her next foodie escape. One whisper of a remote village sporting mind-‐bending flavors or any possibility of a slow-‐food style meal will launch her on a worldwide journey, meanwhile draining her bank account and leaving her responsibilities long forgotten.
Whether she’s helming smash docu-‐soap/reality shows Jerseylicious and Glam Fairy for Endemol USA and The Style Network, Line Producing awe-‐inspiring documentary’s like ABC’s Building a Dream: The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa, rehabbing her unique floating home into an all-‐green dream in Southern California, or cruising around in her vintage pirate-‐style sail boat, Misty is always focused on her next big project. Currently she splits time between a ranchito in New Mexico and her floating home in Marina del Rey.
A gypsy at heart, she is the owner of Fatcake Productions, a food, adventure, travel enterprise pumping out passion projects like Discovery Travel Channel’s Craving Adventure (which she wrote, directed, produced, and hosted) and the National Geographic series, Big Fish Texas, which she created about the unsavory world of global fish fraud.
While working her way up the production ladder, Misty created a massive foodie following by covering the budget ethnic food beat for Time Out Chicago magazine...and she took her lust for food one step further when she created her beloved syndicated column The Raving Dish for the Chicago Sun Times popular weekender section, Centerstage Chicago. Her hound-‐dog-‐like investigative obsession about food dominates all of her spare time as she chases meals and insider intel about good honest grub around the globe...and in her own LA backyard. Read all about her adventures in her colorful blog, www.bigsweettooth.com.
4th World Love, the grassroots NGO she created to empower communities in distant lands, was started after a humbling experience in a small Indonesian village. With a thriving volunteer program and a successful English school in place, 4WL was recently embraced by an elusive family foundation in the USA and awarded a generous donation to keep the village empowerment alive.
Though her EIC/LP duties are vast and various (The Amazing Race, America’s Next Top Model, Last Comic Standing, Southern Belles, Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give to name a few), Misty’s first love is, and will always be, food and travel.
